Terms & Conditions - the basics
Having said that, Terms and Conditions (“T&C”) are a set of legally binding terms defined by you, as the owner of this website. The T&C set forth the legal boundaries governing the activities of the website visitors, or your customers, while they visit or engage with this website. The T&C are meant to establish the legal relationship between the site visitors and you as the website owner.
T&C should be defined according to the specific needs and nature of each website. For example, a website offering products to customers in e-commerce transactions requires T&C that are different from the T&C of a website only providing information (like a blog, a landing page, and so on).
T&C provide you as the website owner the ability to protect yourself from potential legal exposure, but this may differ from jurisdiction to jurisdiction, so make sure to receive local legal advice if you are trying to protect yourself from legal exposure.
What to include in the T&C document
Generally speaking, T&C often address these types of issues: Who is allowed to use the website; the possible payment methods; a declaration that the website owner may change his or her offering in the future; the types of warranties the website owner gives his or her customers; a reference to issues of intellectual property or copyrights, where relevant; the website owner’s right to suspend or cancel a member’s account; and much, much more.

Washer & Dryer Rental Terms and Conditions
1. Rental Term:
The rental period shall commence on _________, 2025, and shall continue for a period of twelve (12) months, ending on _________, 2026.
2. Rental Property:
The Lessor agrees to rent to the Lessee the following appliances:

One (1) Washing Machine - Model: __________, Serial No.: __________

One (1) Dryer - Model: __________, Serial No.: __________
3. Rental Payment & Auto Pay Requirement:
Besides the pro-rated initiation fee of ____, Lessee agrees to pay a monthly rental fee of $___, due on the ___ day of each month. Payments shall be made via [Zelle, Venmo, Cash App, PayPal, or bank ACH transfers] to [Green’s Way Appliance]. Lessee is required to enroll in an automatic payment plan at the time of signing this Agreement. Failure to maintain enrollment in autopay may result in additional administrative fees of $5 per month. Lessee who remains enrolled in autopay for the full 12-month term will receive a discount of $5 off the final month’s rental fee.

If the Lessee wishes to change or update their payment method, they must notify the Lessor at least 5 days before the next billing date.
4. Late Payment & Fees recurring billing:
• Automatic Recurring Payments: By signing this agreement, the Lessee authorizes the Lessor to automatically charge the agreed-upon rental fee each month using the selected payment method (Zelle, Venmo, Cash App, PayPal, or bank ACH transfers).
• The Lessee agrees to maintain an active payment method and ensure sufficient funds are available for the recurring charge.
• A grace period of 2 days is allowed for rental payments. If payment is not received by the 3rd day of the month, a late fee of $10.00 per day will be applied until payment is made in full.
• If the rent remains unpaid for 15 days, the Lessor reserves the right to terminate the agreement and retrieve the rented appliances. The Lessee will remain responsible for any unpaid balance, including late fees.
5. Security Deposit:
Lessee shall pay a non-refundable security deposit of $100 upon signing this Agreement.
6. Use & Maintenance:

Lessee agrees to use the appliances solely for personal, non-commercial purposes.

Lessee shall keep the appliances clean and in good working condition.

Any damage beyond normal wear and tear shall be the responsibility of the Lessee.
7. Repairs & Servicing:

Routine maintenance and servicing shall be the responsibility of the Lessor.

Lessee must notify Lessor within 48 hours of any malfunction or damage.
8. Early Termination Clause:
If the Lessee terminates this Agreement before the completion of the 12-month term, an early termination fee of $200.00 shall apply, payable at the time of termination.
9. Return of Equipment:
Upon termination of this Agreement, the Lessee shall return the rented appliances in good working condition, allowing for normal wear and tear. Failure to return the appliances may result in additional charges of $350.00.
10. Non-Payment & Lien Authorization:
In the event of non-payment or failure to comply with the payment terms outlined in this Agreement, the Lessor reserves the right to file a lien against the Lessee for the outstanding balance. Lessee agrees that any unpaid balance may be subject to collections, legal fees, and additional penalties as permitted by law.
11. Liability & Indemnification:
Lessee shall not hold the Lessor liable for any injuries or damages arising from the use of the appliances.
12. Governing Law:
This Agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State of Georgia.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties have executed this Agreement as of the date first written above.
